Peppard Road Reopening:
The road is currently expected to re-open on Thursday, 23rd October.
Phase 2 Work:
SGN will need to access the main gas pipe running along Derby Road. This will involve a T-shaped excavation on Peppard Road at the left-hand entrance of Derby Road (as seen from Peppard Road).
When SGN are ready to install the new main gas pipe into Derby Road they may need to close Derby Road for around one hour. However, SGN will try to give advance notice before this happens.
After this, SGN are aiming not to close any roads again.
Derby Road Traffic Management Control:
During the Phase 2 works, temporary multi-way traffic lights will be set up on the Peppard Road entrance into Derby Road and the exit from Derby Road into Peppard Road to manage flow. These will be manually operated to help ease congestion, but delays are still likely for a while.
During Phase 3 works, Grosvenor Road will be subject to temporary multi-way traffic lights.
Subject to camera survey results, the lights will rotate roughly every 10 days.
SGN is currently aiming to complete all works by December - earlier than the original target of January 2026.
