Message from QAS re works on 19-20 December
Derby Road gates - Peppard Road end

Just some advance notice of some work to the front gates of the school, which will have a knock-on effect to the use of the back Holmes House gate on Derby Road.

We are having the main gates sandblasted and painted on 19th and 20th of December. The site will be quieter during the holidays but there is still a need to have separate entry and exit gates whilst the work is done.

Therefore, we will open the gates where the pedestrian access is as an entrance into the school on Henley Road. We will open the double gates at Holmes as an exit, as the Henley Road pedestrian gate is quite narrow, and the crescent by this gate is very tight, so we need the one-way system.

We will open the pedestrian gate and Holmes gate at 6am on 19th & 20th Dec and lock them at 10.15pm on 19th Dec. The work should be completed by the close of 20th Dec, but this may create some additional traffic at the Peppard end of Derby Road for a few days.

I am sorry in advance for this, but it is essential that the work is complete in this two-day slot.

Thursday 28 November: 16.30-18.30

Derby Road residents are invited to the QAS Christmas Market which will be held in the school hall and grounds

There will be over 25 independent artisans and crafters selling Christmas gifts and decorations including Jewellery, christmas wreaths, stocking fillers and gifts, cakes and candies, clothing, cosmetics and self-care products … and from their very own hives, Queen Anne’s Honey!

Please fill in the form below if you would like to attend. And do extend the invitation to your local friends and families. QAS would love to welcome more of the community into our school. https://forms.office.com/e/UE01N4NzZk

The event is held to help raise money for various charities, supported by QAS students. These include:

Little Hearts Matter - Single Ventricle Heart Condition Charity - Little Hearts Matter (lhm.org.uk)
Marie Curie - Marie Curie | The UK’s leading end of life charity
Dogs Trust - Dogs Rehoming & Dog Rescue Charity | Dogs Trust
Cancer Research - Cancer Research UK
Great Ormond Street - Great Ormond Street Hospital | Great Ormond Street Hospital Website Homepage (gosh.nhs.uk)

This event is free to attend, and funds are raised through running a raffle and a bottle tombola.  If you would like to donate a prize, please do let QAS know and they can arrange collection if required. QAS thanks you for your continued support and look forward to seeing you soon.
