As it has apparently been several years since the streetlights on Derby Road were last inspected, the DRFA Committee recently engaged a company to inspect all the streetlights before the evenings start getting darker in autumn and identify any maintenance issues.
The inspection noted a broken lamp cover on streetlight no 8 (on the verge outside 17 and 19 Derby Road). Unfortunately the cover is a very old model and the original manufacturer ceased trading some years ago.
The company employed for the inspection is in the process of trying to seek a similar replacement cover. If the search is unsuccessful, a new lamp and cover will be required. Until then, the lamp has been covered in plastic to protect it against the elements.
