Nominations
In more recent times, Derby Road and its offshoot roads have become home to a larger and more diverse number of households and businesses, which have a range of views and requirements. We are very keen that the DRFA Committee should reflect the diversity of the community as much as possible and so we are always keen for new members to help us fulfil this aim.

The Committee meets four times a year for about an hour each time – occasionally more often if urgent business arises, although we are mindful that members are volunteers who have busy lives and other commitments, so we try not to impinge on that.

There are a maximum of 9 places available on the DRFA Committee. As such, there are currently spaces available for new members to join us.

Under the DRFA Constitution, to be able to stand for nomination, a resident must be a full DRFA member.

This means:
  • They are a named freeholder/leaseholder of a property on Derby Road, Mander Court, Queen Anne’s School, Field View, Moss Close, Michaels Chase, Ellesmere Close, Greycoat Court, Fry Court, Maple House, Derby Villas, Cadogan Place, Lansdowne House or Appleby House.
  • They have paid the requested DRFA contribution for 2023-24 before the end of the DRFA financial year (31 March 2024).

The other nomination criteria are as follows:
  • No other member of their household is already on the DRFA Committee.
  • They agree to abide by the terms of the DRFA Constitution and sign the Code of Conduct.

If you would like to put yourself forward to join the DRFA Committee, please email [email protected] by 20 June 2024, giving your name, address and the names/addresses of your proposer and seconder.

Proposers and seconders should be from different households from both yourself and each other, and should also be full DRFA members.

Please also ask your proposer and seconder to email [email protected] confirming their nomination of you and that they are full DRFA members (i.e. they are named freeholders/leaseholders and have paid their 2023-24 contribution).
